Services for Education (S4E) is a Birmingham-based charity which works across the majority of the city’s schools to deliver training and development to teaching and support staff.  It also comprises the Music Service, which was formerly part of Birmingham City Council – and is in its 50th year.

Like many companies, S4E has a bank of good news stories but has lacked the expertise in telling them to the outside world. This is the first time S4E have embarked upon a communications and PR strategy.

Clarke Associates was appointed by S4E to build its external profile in the media and within the education trade press.

Initially we met with members of the senior leadership team to establish the main challenges and opportunities. This task informed us with our areas of priority to support them with communications and PR going forward.

From this information, we were able to create a timeline of activity across all areas of S4E to help promote synergy and clarity.  We continue to plan PR strategies for some of their main events in the calendar and build media relations, speaking with regional journalists, writing marketing emails and advising on web content and writing press releases.
